Make Stonegate York.Purplegate after the real time hero charity worker Purpleman

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Purpleman has been collecting for charity for years and years on Stonegate York. He has now left to do charity work in Syria. The street should be renamed in his honour.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Re-naming a street is the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

Your local council also has a petitions process - you can find out more about it here:https://www.york.gov.uk/downloads/file/6444/petitions_scheme
