Introduce tougher law on Cyclists who don't respect the highway code.

Closed 43 signatures

What the petition asks

As there is an increase of cyclist on the roads. Its time there are tougher laws on ones who run red lights, cycle on pavements and have no lights on their bike after dark. The ones who normally do that can be abusive both verbally and physically and it seems the police don’t do anything about it.
The Government need to amend the RTA so offenders have their bikes seized if riding without lights or on the pavement, Tougher fines for cyclists who red lights. Also to introduce a scheme, for a moped style CBT for cyclists. PCSOs should have more powers to hand out fixed fines for offenders. Also make it compulsory for cyclists to wear helmets and high visibility clothing .
