What the petition asks
The British government is contracting EDF France and The People's Republic of China to build 3 Nucleur Reactors. They will each cost a minimum of £24bn.
If this was spent on renewable R&D and projects we will not need nucleur power stations nor fracking and we will have clean energy.
EDF will charge the retail UK energy market a wholesale price based on energy supplied from Hinkley (the first new Nucleur reactor by 2022/23) at £92.50 per mWh, in contrast to the current wholesale price of £48 per mWh.
Additiinally Fracking under National Parks has the go ahead.
Solar subsidies are being reduced from a 12.03p kWh feed in tariff to 4.39p in January 2016.
We want the British Government to change its energy priorities and back renewable R&D and power.
