What the petition asks
MP's are continuously claiming for things that don't cost them anything, so a suitable cap should be applied and proof of expense supplied prior to it being paid.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government and Parliament don’t have the power to set MPs’ pay and expenses. That power was given by Parliament to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) in 2010.
