2 million given by government to Eastbourne shouln't be give to new pier owner

A petition has been set up to try and obtain the money given to Eastbourne town to help support tourism in Eastbourne. The petition claims the money should go to the new pier owner Mr Gulzar. The pier was insured by its owners at time if the fire. Therefore the new owner should not get the the money

This seems to be about a proposal made by a petition, not a proposal by the Government or Parliament.

In any case, this money has been awarded to Eastbourne Council.
