Petition · past parliament
Give the Fire & Rescue Services a statutory duty to respond to floodings.

What the petition asks
The number of flooding incidents that the Fire & Rescue services attend in England & Wales has increased in recent years. Despite this increase, there is no legal responsibility for them to respond. This means that funding for flood related equipment is not available in all areas of the country.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland the Fire & Rescue Services are already legally required to deal with flooding incidents.
