Rename Stansfield Road in Brixton to commemorate David Bowie

What the petition asks

David Bowie was an extraordinary musician, writer and performer, whose untimely death has created ripples around the world - just as his work did during his lifetime.

Given that he was from Brixton, a small, permanent tribute could be to rename Stansfield Road, where his home was, as Bowie Road.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Road naming is the responsibility of local authorities, not Parliament or Government.
