For special guardianship orders to have equal to fosters careers

Closed 58 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like to see that special guardianship orders have the same right as foster careers is respite and not for our child benefit or child tax credit to be deducted as many of us have had to give up our jobs to look after a child
Foster careers - are allowed to have respite accasionally and have a weekly allowance .

Special guardianship orders - we get quite less fianciall help, we get no overnight, weekends or holidays break .

This can impact on families , as we then tend to spend less time with our own children and spend time with the grandchild/nephew/ etc especially if that child has special needs and doesn't always fit the disability criteria , example - foetal alachol spectrum disorder which can not always be recognise in the child visibly , some people can think ther is nothing wrong but it can be an invisible disability that people don't recognise I didn't even know it existed until I took on my grandson who has ( FASD and ADHD
