600 new Armed Police. These positions should be filled by ex Servicemen

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government want to train up 600 armed officers. These positions should be given to ex Serviceman. This makes sense because they are already trained, they struggle to get back into normal civilian jobs. So giving them a proper chance to use their training while settling back into Civilian life.
A lot of our Ex Servicemen and women are forgotten by the Government, as thousands end up sleeping rough on the streets of this country. Which the Government should be ashamed of.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the issue you raise is not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. The proposal for 600 new armed police officers seems to relate to the Metropolitan Police Service. Policing in London is the responsibility of the London Assembly.

The London Assembly has its own petitions process. You can find out more about how to petition the London Assembly here:
