Stop UK tax payers money funding lawyers against Service personnel or Veterans

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Why should we as UK tax payers fund private law firms? They have created their own market and are in no rush to bring any cases to court, whilst this is being dragged out people who are trying to move on with their lives can't.
If they were self funded they would only take on cases they thought they could win, most of these spurious cases would be dropped overnight.
They make huge profits so why are we paying for them to persecute our own Service personnel and Veterans

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

As we understand it, the Government does not directly fund private law firms.

If you would like the criteria for eligibility for legal aid to be changed, you could start a new petition asking for that.
