Petition · past parliament

Explain how Britains membership of the EU Is legal.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

The people of Britain were never given the opportunity to vote on membership. Therefore, we never agreed. The only vote offered in the past was membership of the Common Market, which is a very different issue. We didn't agree to membership of the EU, so is it legal?
We live by British law, so surely do not recognise EU law. EU laws enforced upon Britain are surely not legal. I will take legal advice on this, but I think statutes are not laws and as a British citizen have the right to question.
