Reciprocal removal of visa waiver for US citizens for the discriminatory HR158

Closed 487 signatures

What the petition asks

In response to the enacted discriminatory bill HR158 by the US government, turning a large number of British citizens into second class citizens, we ask the UK government to uphold its ‘British Values’ of protecting the rights of its citizens irrespective of where their parents were born.
The HR158 discriminates against British citizens who have travelled or are also citizens of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Sudan. Citizenship is commonly acquired automatically through ones father, and almost impossible to denounce. These citizens are some of the most ‘integrated’ and highly educated migrants in the UK. They include prominent researchers, business leaders and many more people contributing every day to this country. All they ask for is the same rights as everyone else.
