What the petition asks
HMS President is a ship and corporate venue moored on the Thames and was built in 1918 as a Q ship.
It would be a terrible shame to have this ship scrapped at a time when we are at the centenary of the first world war.
It would be a terrible shame to have this ship scrapped at a time when we are at the centenary of the first world war.
The river Thames is slowly losing many of its riverfront sites and this needs to be saved to preserve the history on the Victoria Embankment.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
As we understand it, HMS President is not currently owned by the Government. We are not sure whether your petition is asking for the UK Government to use public money to buy HMS President from its current owners.
