What the petition asks
Pet shops have no responsibility of preventing their pets from being sold on to someone who can breed them, make money from them and sell the offspring onto whoever they like. This can often Lead to pets in the wrong hands, with inexperienced handlers and put pressure on animal rescue centres.
Most uk pet stores claim to be responsible by taking information of their customers and giving basic advice of animal care but they rarely follow it up. By making sure the animals are spayed or neutered before the day of sale will ensure the safety of those pets and its further offspring.
(its not to say that the store should pay for the treatment but should offer a scheme towards it)
