What the petition asks
Palestine, once a protectorate of the U K abused by UK foreign policy since 1948, formally be recognised as an independent state. This state based on the borders established in 1948, having full U K recognition as an independent state. Post 1948 Palestine deliberately colonised by a foreign state.
The UN Treaty and Charter formed in 1945 was ratified by the then UK gov. 1948, Human Rights of Palestinian and Jewish peoples were in tension; each a homeland for their own peoples. The international community split Palestine in 1948. This solution was and is highly contentious, with the Palestinian people for the past 70 years suffering and reacting to this decision. The UK needs to demonstrate its equal support to both Israel and Palestine states by treating and recognising them both equally.
