Stop V&A London stealing 400,000 photo's from Bradford's National Media Museum

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London want to take 400,000 items from The National Media Museum in Bradford as it's apparently "more accessible". To who exactly?

Arts Council Shares:

Bradford given £18.7M (-15.9M)
Leeds given £75.3M (+25.5M)
4 London Boroughs given +£830.9M
We struggled to raise £2M for NMM after government cuts, while London got billions more pounds for the Arts/Museums sector than they contributed too.

So not only are they stealing our money, they now want to steal 400,000 items (mainly photo's) which attract people to the Media Museum.

There's also the fact film was 1st shown (Bradford) and filmed (Leeds) in West Yorkshire before London even knew what film was, so its rightful place is here in BRADFORD!

There's a world outside London!

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This decision is the responsibility of the Science Museum Group, which is operationally independent.
