Support the work of Maternity Services Liaison Committees nationwide

What the petition asks
Maternity Services Liaison Committees (MSLCs) bring together providers of maternity services and users to improve maternity services at a local level. Many MSLCs are at risk due to a lack of funding. Support should be given to MSLCs to continue and improve on the work they are currently doing.
The Health And Social Care Act states that NHS England and clinical commissioning group commissioners have a statutory duty to involve patients and the public effectively and systematically. MSLCs have a proven track record in delivering this.
The government/CCGs should commit to funding MSLCs in order to maintain the interaction between providers and users and to support patient involvement in influencing service provision locally.
