What the petition asks
All Campaign Groups in the forthcoming referendum should include the words 'European Union' in full and not 'Europe' in their campaign. The Electoral Commission should not recognize, fund or authorize donations from any group that uses 'Europe' alone in their description or any statements made.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Electoral Commission is independent of the Government and Parliament.
If you would like the law that governs the EU Referendum to be changed to require the Electoral Commission to do this, you could start a new petition asking for that.
