What the petition asks
Work was due to start now on a £7.7 million development in Harrogate but it has been delayed because of the uncertainty created when the Chancellor outlined plans to cap the housing benefit that the elderly and vulnerable are eligible to claim, which amounts to £68 per week loss.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It is not clear from your petition what specific action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. If you were to submit a petition asking the Chancellor to reverse his decision on the housing benefit cap, we would look at that. The decision about this particular development seems to be a matter for the Housing Association itself, rather than the UK Government or Parliament.
