Name and shame the person that made the decision to deport Myrtle Cothill

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Myrtle Cothill, a 92 year old is due to be deported to South Africa despite her family being in the UK. I cannot understand how this country can treat a senior citizen in an abhorrent way where the stress could kill her. An awful decision where someone should be held publicly accountable.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The Home Secretary, Rt Hon Theresa May, is accountable to the House of Commons for the work of the Home Office.

The rules about petitions require us to reject petitions which name public officials (other than senior management). By extension, it would not be appropriate for us to publish a petition calling for an official to be named.

You might like to sign this petition calling for the decision to be reversed:

Let 92 yr old Myrtle Cothill remain in the UK with her daughter for her care
