What the petition asks
The referendum to stay in the EU in June is one of the most important decisions that Britain will make this century. As a 16 year old myself, I believe that the young people of Britain should have a say in what happens to OUR future, Britain.
According to the 2011 National Census there were around 1,540,000 [2] 11 and 12 year olds - meaning that in 2016 there are approximately the same amount of 16 - 17 year olds, this makes up about 2.4% of the population in 2016. This figure will increase the total voting population by 3.0% (Voting population taken from recent parliamentary election [1]).
