The British government should refer to Israel as “Apartheid Israel”

Closed 39 signatures

What the petition asks

The UK government should use as frequently as possible the terminology “Apartheid Israel” rather than just Israel because South African anti-Apartheid icons like Desmond Tutu have confirmed that Israel's system of brutal ethnic separation and occupation is far worse than South African Apartheid
South African John Dugard, the former U.N. Special Rapporteur on Human Rights said: "I’m a South African who lived through Apartheid. I've no hesitation in saying that Israel’s crimes are infinitely worse than those committed by the Apartheid regime of South Africa." Veteran Jewish anti-Apartheid activist Denis Goldberg, who was sentenced with Nelson Mandela to life in prison in the 1964 Rivonia treason trial said: "There is no doubt in my mind that Israel is an Apartheid state".
