What the petition asks
Halal is a religious method of slaughter, envolving the cutting of the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe via a sharp knife. The animal must be fully alive when slaughtered. Halal does not like the use of stunning as it is believed to kill the animal. The animal must be alive when killed.
In the UK many cafes, restaurants and take aways sell halal meat without making it clear. It should be a legal requirement to make it clear that the meat being served it halal on the menu.
