What the petition asks
Student nurses, and other healthcare professionals are currently working 37.5 hours a week "free labour" at trusts around the country. Alongside this rotational shift of placement, students are forced to take on
Part time jobs such as working as barstaff just to pay rent and living costs.
Part time jobs such as working as barstaff just to pay rent and living costs.
At the moment the recent changes of the bursaries means that students have to take a "loan" out to pay to work for the NHS. We should be ashamed! Student nurses are essential to our NHS and this needs to change! Many upcoming students will feel that this is a massive barrier in choosing this career resulting in a decline of nurses and ultimately a huge failure in the NHS system ! Please sign to help student nurses get what they deserve.
