Enforce a wider use of the 'crossed grain' symbol on food packaging in the UK.

Closed 501 signatures

What the petition asks

In many European countries the cross grain symbol is regularly used on a wide variety of food items and products. As a UK citizen I feel as though we, as a country, are falling behind other countries who seem to make gluten-free packaging a priority.
https://www.coeliac.org.uk/food-industry-professionals/the-crossed-grain-symbol/, this link provides current information on the 'crossed grain' symbol.

For Coeliac Disease sufferers shopping can be a chore, as well as expensive. However if this sign was enforced on many more products and by a wider range on manufacturers, it could relieve some of that stress and even encourage the 'may contain' products to be made without.
