The previous petition regarding this topic was received well by the general public, so well in fact that it registered as the 3rd most popular in the sites history.
However, when discussed in the HOP, it was brushed under the carpet due to "personal, medicinal and government" viewpoints.

The medicinal benefits can no longer be disputed, and the age old lies surrounding cannabis and mental health have been proven false. (Please refer to the most recent studies into cannabis and mental/physical health).
The potential revenue and room for business growth is exponential, whether it be pharmaceutical or recreational; just look at the business models from Colorado and other "legal" states.
The facts are now readily available, I think it's time for a re-think on an outdated policy.
