Change an M.P.'s age of entitlement to a Parliamentary pension
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
M.P's recieve a very generous tax payer funded pension, they should not be allowed to draw this pension until the state retirement age
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government and Parliament don’t have the power to set or alter the age of entitlement for MPs’ pensions. That power was given by Parliament to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) in 2010, so that after 2012 MPs no longer had control over their own pay, expenses or pensions.
