Return Sex & Relationships education as a compulsory National Curriculum subject
Rejected
17 signatures
What the petition asks
Due to changes in Government policy, Education Secretary Ms Nicky Morgan took the strange decision to remove compulsory SRE from the core curriculum. We petition to have SRE reinstated & updated to reflect common sense, basic values, freedom of consensual sexual choices & other modern perspectives.
A core SRE programme should include: 1) Educating sexual consent, individual boundaries, rights & responsibilities 2) Educating sexual equality, diversity, orientation, relationships and respect for all the differences between us 3) Educating & safeguarding for safer sex & relationships including knowledge on STi's, pregnancy, relationship ethics, parenthood 4) Teach/learn the differences of fantasy/reality as young people use the internet to shape their opinions
