What the petition asks
It is proposed that Cotswold District Council cease to administer The Cotswolds within Gloucestershire & that West Oxfordshire District Council take over that role. The 190,000 population have not been consulted. An ancient region would be lost to contrived unitary administration.
The Cotswold Disrtict area within Gloucestershire should not be allowed to pass into the hands of West Oxfordshire. The leader of Gloucestershire County Council has said it will "rip up" the county. Numerous bodies within the County have also expressed their concerns that this proposal would be detrimental, including the Crime Commissioner & the Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Hospitals.
This proposal is a threat to regional stability, pride & history.
