What the petition asks

Forcing schools out of the control of local authorities will lead to them being controlled by business interests, resulting in both a lower standard of education (which will ultimately become politically biased), and a poorer working environment for staff.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Scrap plans to force state schools to become academies.
