What the petition asks
I am a 40% taxpayer. From 2017 I will be better off by £141.50 a year by virtue of increases to the 40% tax threshold. I don't need this money but many others do. Savings from reversing this increase should be applied to those who have recently had their benefits slashed - the disabled.
My annual savings have been calculated using online calculators such as that published by The Independent http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/budget-2016-use-our-calculator-to-work-out-how-the-tax-changes-affect-you-a6934526.html and reports of cuts to the Personal Independence Payment http://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/mar/13/cuts-will-see-200000-disabled-people-lose-3000-a-year
