What the petition asks
Oakland employs 245 and is recognised as a top 100 local employer and also in the top 1000 companies to Inspire Britain. Bromsgrove Council stated that further building on Oakland’s site is not welcome, commenting Oakland is “growing like topsy” and have asked Oakland to relocate out of the county.
Oakland is seeing its whole existence under threat due to its local Council blocking any building plans.
The Council’s planners argument for refusal is based on protection of Green Belt, in this case derelict warehouses.
Oakland is intent on highlighting the disparity between what Central Government is saying and what Local Government is doing.
