What the petition asks
The Select Committee on Equality and Disability's report shows the government, and local authorities, are not enforcing the DDA. We call on the government to enforce the Act, and tell local authorities they must enforce it, and produce an annual report to parliament on the steps they have taken.
The Select Committee on the Equality Act 2010 and Disability has produced a report: The Equality Act 2010: the impact on disabled people see http://bit.ly/DDAreport which points to serious problems with enforcement of the DDA including:
planning applications not being required to meet it,
Red tape unit ignoring needs of people with disabilities
Transport being inaccessible, and no enforcement of DDA
etc
