Ensure road cyclists pay a tax and adhere to a DVLA type set of rules

Closed 53 signatures

What the petition asks

Taxing cyclists who are over the age of 18 £30 a year would generate £130m+ per year which can be used for cycle lane projects and improving the roads.

With this tax, cyclists should also be made to followe a DVLA type set of rules when on the roads.
The tax would generate over £130m+ a year which could be used to improve roads for cyclalcists and help with cycle lane projects.

The DVLA type rules would also help reduce the amount of road accidents involving cyclists. Currently 48% of all cyclists feel unsafe when out on the roads. These new rules will help both cyclists and other road users make better choices when it comes to scenarios involving cyclists.
