What the petition asks
People with long term disability can get a blue badge to park in disabled spaces close to buildings. It's hard to get blue badge and if only needed temporarily eg broken leg, after surgery/chemo where walking long distances is hard. Petition for temporary blue badge, given out by medics for set time
When a patient is ill eg after surgery or chemo, getting out can help recovery. However it can be very daunting leaving the house and if you have to park on the opposite side of a large car park this often puts people off going outside. You often need someone with you to support you so getting dropped off and then meeting someone as they park the car is not an option too. There needs to be something for people to get the justified disabled car parking spaces whilst they need it, deemed by a dr
