What the petition asks
Currently the wait to receive mental health treatment for mental illness is approximately 56 weeks (or more), without interim support, where people are now in & out of the crisis team at A&E more & more. Funding needs to increase & the waiting times need to come down before people turn to suicide!
1 in 4 people at some time in their life will be diagnosed with a mental health issue. However, 75% of those 1 in 4 will be left in the system for over a year to struggle on their own without access to interim support.
