Petition · past parliament
Stop any additional Government funding for EU referendum Remain Campaign.
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
The Electoral commission has put a spending limit of £7 million for each of the Lead campaign groups (Remain or Leave) in the EU referendum.
As the Government has seen fit to spend £9.2 million on one free distribution of information to voters, this clearly demonstrates they have taken the lead in Remain campaign. The distribution of a one sided booklet with a view to remain in the EU, and exceed the campaign limit, undermines the objectives of the Referendum and demonstrates a lack of integrity.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament. You could start a petition calling on the Government to not use any public money on publishing documents which make the case for the UK remaining in the EU.
