What the petition asks
With our personal experience when we found out our son had Poland syndrome we found it really hard to get any information on this and also very few doctors have even heard of Poland syndrome. We feel after to speaking to others in the same position that there should be more info for us.
Poland syndrome is a rare birth defect characterized by underdevelopment or absence of the chest pectoralis muscle and webbing of the fingers. In most individuals the missing part is the large Pectoralis muscle that attaches to the upper arm on one side and the breastbone. Abnormalities may affect muscles in the chest wall, side and shoulder and also rib cage abnormalities, Breast and nipple abnormalities may occur, may also affect internal organs.
