What the petition asks
This issue is wide spread among start up businesses that need to licence media content, usually because new age digital businesses business models don't comply with the existing licensing infrastructures. Media licensing is overdue an update to promote the growth of licensed legal media services.
Once Apple, then Spotify, and now Violet a new start up media company is struggling with licensing. Since January 2014 Violet has discussed with several major companies about licensing content and states that there is a lack of communication or structure in place to licence content.
