Government to reimburse all British taxpayers for Pro-EU propaganda leaflet

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

All 29.7 million British tax-payers deserve a £0.30 tax-rebate to reimburse them for the misappropriation of public funds to further a government agenda.

'Let's be clear' the government haven't used THEIR money, there is no such thing as 'the government's money', it's OUR money.
It is 'morally wrong' to use public funds to promote one side of an argument exclusively when polling indicates the majority of the British public support leaving the EU. I pay my taxes so children can go to school, the sick and elderly be cared for and so public services run.

I did not consent to my tax contribution being used to further the prospects of an organisation I strongly oppose. I want my misappropriated tax back!

NB: In this circumstance, the term 'majority' does not mean 36.9%

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The cost of compensating tax payers as the petition suggests would be borne by the taxpayer, so it is not clear how taxpayers could be reimbursed in this way.
