Petition · past parliament
To call a referendum on abolition of the UK monarchy.

What the petition asks
We seek a referendum to allow the people to abolish the monarchy, retain without state funding, retain as is or have an elected constitutional monarchy.
The monarchy is a huge cost to the public purse but also one which represents a division in class. In a modern democratic society, retention of the monarchy should be at the behest of the people.
