Petition · past parliament

MP's cannot be excluded from uk money laundering laws.

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

The government recently announced that uk money laundering rules will not be applied to MP's. The public need to know that MP's are working for the country and not engaging in activity that's illegal for the public.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

MPs are not excluded from money laundering laws. We think you're referring to the Bank of England and Financial Services Bill, which is currently before Parliament. That Bill will regulate "politically exposed persons", including MPs and their families. You can find out more about what the Bill says about this here:

You might like to submit a new petition which calls for clear action from Parliament - for example, a specific change to this Bill.
