What the petition asks
As the law stands, Child Benefit can be paid out to people who have children. This may or may not be the parents.
The payment for the first child is currently £20.70
For each additional child, it is £13.70 per child.
We believe that Child Benefit should be limited to the first two children only.

We believe that Child Benefit should be limited to the first two children only.
We believe that benefits are in the gift of the Government.
As the law currently stands, Child Benefit is paid at the rate of £20.70 for the first child and £13.70 for each additional child.
We believe that this needs to change and that the Government should legislate to limit the payout of Child Benefit to the first two children only.
This would reduce the benefits bill and the burden on the taxpayers.
People who wish to have more than two children should not expect the state to pay for them.
