Prison sentences for those who abuse animals including teens in young offenders
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
Animals do not have voice to speak out about being abused. Poor defenceless animals are abused and the law does nothing to stop this. The sick individuals who do this go unpunished. How can we allow this to happen? There must be justice for those without a voice.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The UK Government and Parliament don't decide on the sentences for individual crimes. Sentencing in individual cases is the responsibility of the courts, which are independent.
You could start a petition asking Parliament to change the law, to set a minimum prison sentence for people convicted of animal abuse.
