The DfT should urgently plan and fund a mass transit system for Leeds

Closed 157 signatures

What the petition asks

Leeds is the largest city in western Europe without a mass transit system. Leeds has the third worst air quality in the UK and has recently been warned over exceeding World Health Organisation's air quality limits.
Today it as been announced that central government aren't going to back a mass transit system that, however flawed it was, would have gone some way to improving these issues. These plans were ten years and £60m in the making. Please sign this petition if you believe that local MPs, councillors and the DfT should be compelled to produce a plan and find the funding for an immediate transport intervention for Leeds and the city region.
