Wage of care assistants to rise.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Wage of care assistants in all fields rise to match the difficulty of the day to day job, the emotional & physical effects.
Most carers only make around £7.00 an hour unless they're are over 25 but younger carers are over looked in this.
With the day to day work involved the wage does not show how hard carers work.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We cannot accept your petition in its current form as it does not include a clear action for either the UK Government or Parliament. Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition asking the Government to set a minimum wage for the social care sector.

Alternatively, you might like to sign this petition, which calls on the Government to extend plans for the Living Wage (which is higher than the Minimum Wage) to all employees, not just over 25s:
Stop state sanctioned age discrimination - pay under 25s the living wage too!
