Petition · past parliament
For MP Helen Joanne "Jo" Cox (RIP) to be posthumously awarded the George Cross.
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
MP Jo Cox died serving British democracy and throughout her career was dedicated to humanitarian causes. Therefore we the undersigned feel it is only right and fitting to posthumously award her the GC, the highest gallantry award for civilians.
If reports are accurate that an individual came to Mrs Cox's aid then if appropriate that individual should be considered for a GC also.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We can't accept your petition because it asks for someone to be nominated for an honour.
