What the petition asks
I am a South African, living in the uk, and think it's a disgrace, that I have to pay my way to get British citizenship. I have fought for the queen in Afghanistan yet I have to now pay, to live in the county I fought for!
The fee for a settlement application within the UK will increase to £1,875. British citizen naturalisation fees for adults will increase to £1,156 and child registration fees to £936, which also represent 25% increases.2 Mar 2016
