16-17 year olds MUST have a Brexit vote (like Scottish referendum). #MakeItFair
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
48% of the country voted to remain in the EU. BBC reporting suggests that there is a significant age and educational bias in the voting. The youth of the UK will have to live with the decision of 52% of the country for the rest of their lives. 16 and 17-year-olds must have a say.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The EU referendum has already taken place. It is therefore no longer possible for the franchise (the groups of people who are entitled to vote) to be changed.
