What the petition asks
This is a petition to disregard the votes of those older people who voted to leave the EU and change the country for the generation to come and not for the generation that is coming to an end.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It's not clear how this could be done. Voting in the UK is anonymous. It is not therefore possible to work out which votes would be disregarded.
